Horror Month 2022
October is here again, and at Lamplight Drivel that means a solid month of horror. Movies, that is. All can be at least classified as "thrillers", lest there be some debate as to what comprises a true horror film. If you follow social media and various internet forums, there always (yawn) is. I do believe there are some bona-fides this time out. One is an undisputed classic in the "possession" subgenre, a movie that caused people to faint in theaters. Another is one of its many ripoffs. You'll find a '70s remake that absolutely bests the original from the '50s, which conveniently is also included this month.
What else? A couple of sequels in two long running series, both of which arguably have more than run their courses. We have a horror comedy, a recent sci-fi/social horror, a monster movie courtesy of Universal Studios from the glorious '30s, and a unique spin on zombie flicks. And.... a supposed true story of a very troubled house in Long Island.
As always, I hope you may discover a new favorite among them. I try to vary the mix with the old and new(er), the familiar and obscure.
Happy haunts!

I might've once said it would snow in Key West before I would review a Hallmark Christmas movie on this blog, but you never know...
