Salento

If you're in downtown West Palm Beach, stop by Salento, a newish coffee shop with a cool atmosphere and wonderful offerings in the Colombian and Cuban styles.  My wife introduced me to owner Jaime Lara and his wife, who are eager to serve those with an appreciation for Tinto pour overs and much more. The brews are all organic and imported from the mother country.  There are also cold brews and smoothies, as well as paninis and snacks.  I had the Cortadito coffee with a shredded chicken and guacamole arepa a few weekends ago.  Fabulous.

There are guitars, saxophones, and bongos on the back wall.  A small area in which Jaime and other musicians promise to play in the future if there is enough interest.

Support these guys! They're open from 7 - 5 during the week and 8 - 4 on Saturdays.  We lost b-noon (in the Village Commons Shopping Plaza) earlier this year.  Help the independents. Hang out at the bar and maybe meet some of the locals who've moved into one of those new high rises nearby.  Or just nurse your Cerrerito and pandebonos in blissful solitude.  You've had enough Starbuck's and DD for a lifetime.
